Conflict of Interest Policy

The International Journal of Emerging Research Frontiers (IJERF) is committed to ensuring transparency, integrity, and objectivity throughout the publication process. A conflict of interest exists when professional judgment concerning a primary interest, such as the validity of research, may be influenced by a secondary interest, including financial gain, personal relationships, academic competition, institutional affiliations, or other considerations.

To maintain the highest standards of scholarly publishing, all authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial board members are required to disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that could influence their responsibilities within the publication process.

Authors

Authors must disclose any financial, professional, institutional, or personal relationships that could be viewed as influencing the research, interpretation of data, or conclusions presented in their manuscript.

Examples of potential conflicts of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Research funding from commercial organizations.
  • Employment, consultancy, or advisory roles.
  • Stock ownership or investment interests.
  • Patent applications or intellectual property interests.
  • Personal or professional relationships that may influence the research.
  • Institutional affiliations that could affect objectivity.

Authors must include a Conflict of Interest Statement within their manuscript. If no conflicts exist, authors should state:

"The authors declare that there are no conflicts of interest regarding the publication of this manuscript."

Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to evaluate manuscripts objectively and impartially. Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect their ability to provide an unbiased assessment.

Reviewers should decline invitations to review manuscripts when:

  • They have collaborated with the authors recently.
  • They have personal relationships with any author.
  • They have competing research interests.
  • They may gain financial or professional benefit from the manuscript's publication.
  • Any other circumstance could compromise impartiality.

Reviewers must maintain strict confidentiality regarding all manuscript content and review activities.

Editors

Editors are responsible for ensuring fair and unbiased editorial decisions. Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts when conflicts of interest exist.

Examples include:

  • Personal or professional relationships with authors.
  • Institutional affiliations with authors.
  • Financial interests related to the manuscript.
  • Direct involvement in the research under consideration.

In such situations, the manuscript will be assigned to another qualified editor to ensure an independent review process.

Editorial Board Members

Members of the Editorial Board must disclose any relationships or activities that may influence editorial decisions. Editorial Board members are expected to uphold the principles of fairness, confidentiality, and transparency throughout the publication process.

Disclosure Requirements

All disclosed conflicts of interest will be evaluated by the editorial office. Where appropriate, disclosed information may be published alongside the article to ensure transparency for readers.

Failure to disclose a relevant conflict of interest may result in:

  • Rejection of the manuscript.
  • Publication of a correction or clarification.
  • Retraction of the article.
  • Restriction on future submissions.
  • Other actions deemed appropriate by the editorial board.
